DESCRIPTION:
APW - Elgin, G.M. Wheeler, 11-15J, 18S, 14K gold (tested) B.W.Co. HC recase with lion hallmark and "J . F" marking in cameo, attractive engine turning and engraving detail, gold cuvette, "National Watch Co." marked white enamel SS dial, hour and minute hands with polished spades, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#138071. Gross weight of assembled watch 82.6 dwt (128.6 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with good gilt tone, some typical micro-fine scratches and light bits of haze, some fine scratch scoring around case screw position; dial with cluster of hls near 5, cluster of hls between 7 and 8; hour hand is bend, hands otherwise excellent, minute with some oxide to its polished spade; case with thin notch filed through rear lip at 3:30 and smaller notch to front lip at 1:30 both presumably made during a content testing at some time in its past, case shows little wear, no dents or dings, good overall engine turning and engraving detail though with a small spot of full loss to engine turning detail at front shoulder and a mild reduction through remainder of front shoulder; good glass crystal with some bits of excess adhesive visible around its seat.
